The Tigers beat off competition from several sides to sign young goalkeeper Mark Oxley from Rotherham United ahead of the 2008/09 season.
City paid £150,000 to secure his services. Although he was yet to make his senior debut, he had provided cover on the bench several times and also played for England's under 18 side.
Injury dusrupted his first season with City as he made only a handful of appearances for the reserves.
