Although born in the United States, Boaz - full name Glyn Oliver Myhill - has lived in the UK since the age of one-year old. He has an American father and his mother was born in Llangollen.

The big goalkeeper joined Aston Villa as a 12 year-old and although he was not to make a senior appearance for the Premiership club, his progress was charted through his rise at international standard as he has represented England at most levels up to and including Under-20. He has been on standby for the Under-21s and, as well as USA, is also eligible to play for Wales.

At club level, he went out on loan to Stoke City and Bristol City without making his first team debut. That finally came when he went on loan to First Division Bradford City in November 2002 but it proved to be memorable for the wrong reasons as Sheffield United won 5-0 at Valley Parade.

Boaz got his first taste of Third Division football during a 16-game loan stint at Macclesfield Town at the start of the 2003-04 season. Shortly before joining the Tigers in a £50,000 deal in December 2003 (with a contract up to June 2006), he had also been on loan at Stockport County.

It's not just that both of Bo's first two seasons with the Tigers ended in promotion that now makes him on of the most highly rated keepers outside of the Premiership. He truly cemented his place between the City sticks in 2004-05 when he missed only one league game as the Tigers headed towards the Championship.

Bo continued to be a near ever-present in 2005-06 and thoroughly deserved his Tigers Player of the Year award. His outstanding performances were also recognised by a wider audience as he was also named the No. 1 keeper in FourFourTwo magazine's list of the top 50 Football League players.

His Tigers contract was extended to June 2008 in September 2005, then to June 2010 in August 2008.

In playing in all but 31 minutes of the 51-game 2006-07 campaign (he picked up a knee injury during the game at Sheffield Wednesday on New Year's Day), Bo became only the Tigers second ever-present since 1990.

In March 2008, Boaz joined Alan Jarvis, Dave Roberts, Tony Norman and Sam Ricketts to become the fifth Tiger to be capped at full international level by Wales.
