Phil Brown believes a positive result against Everton on Sunday would put down a marker for the rest of the season.

Although Everton are one of the form sides in the Premier League at the moment, Brown is confident his side can get a result having beaten the Toffees at the KC Stadium earlier in the season.

"I remember vividly our first half performance against Everton at the KC Stadium and the way we played that day," said Brown.

"I'd like to think we can emulate that style of football, and what I would give for three points on Sunday.

"It would alleviate a lot of the pressure that is around at the moment and it would put a marker down where Hull City is concerned.

"We've had the opportunity to work with the players on the training ground for a fortnight and re-emphasise the basics and our strengths.

"We had a reserve game against Wigan, a game in Ireland against Galway and a training ground game against Doncaster.

"It's been an important fortnight and it's been a chance for some senior players who needed games to get fully fit and ready for action on Sunday."
