Bryan Hughes is aiming to use this evening's game against Swansea as an opportunity to remind manager Phil Brown of what he can do.

Hughes is expected to figure in the Tigers' starting line-up for the Carling Cup tie at the Liberty Stadium and having not featured for the first team so far this season, the midfielder is eager to impress.

"Hopefully the Carling Cup will give one or two the chance to show the manager what they can do," said Hughes.

"What we want to do is give the manager a bit of a headache when it comes to selecting his team on Saturday.

"That is the way I have to look at tonight. The team has done well and taken four points from two games, but tonight is an opportunity for me to stake a claim.

"I'm not a good watcher of games and obviously I would prefer to be playing, but somebody has to watch.

"At the moment, that is me but hopefully it won't last too long."
