Steve Parkin says the City squad should be enjoying the pressures involved in being caught up in the race for promotion to the Premier League.

Although Parkin admits there will be a certain amount pressure on the Tigers to claim a result against Sheffield United this weekend, he says the players should be enjoying the position they currently find themselves in.

"Although there is pressure, these times are there to be enjoyed. We all know where we were this time last year, and obviously this year feels a lot better," said the first team coach.

"The players have to go out there and deliver the best performance they can, but they have to enjoy it as well.

"We know we're going to Sheffield United with them in the middle of a very good run.

"Kevin Blackwell has gone there and they've suddenly picked up. They'll maybe feel they still have an outside chance of sneaking into the play-offs.

"There will be a great atmosphere, especially with the amount of our fans that are going, and we're all very much looking forward to it."

One of the key factors in the 3-1 win against Barnsley was City's ability to keep possession for long periods of the game and that is something Parkin wants to see repeated tomorrow.

"Sheffield United have proved over the last few weeks that whichever strike force they pick can be dangerous.

"Because of that, it's important that we hold onto the ball for long periods of the game. We know how devastating our strike force can be, whichever two we play.

"Our strikers are eager and have that desire to have an effect on games. It's nice to know that we have players who can come off the bench and make a difference. In modern-speak it's an impact bench."
