Brown Relishing Colchester Return
Wayne Brown is looking forward to his first return to Colchester United and hopes his former team avoid relegation - as long as it's not the Tigers who give them a survival boost.
Brown joined the Tigers from Colchester last summer after spending three years at Layer Road and although he's disappointed to see his former club bottom of the Championship, he is fully focussed on helping City to three points this weekend.
"I'm very much looking forward to my return to Colchester," said Brown.
"It's a game that I've been looking forward to since I joined Hull. Any player that returns to a former club wants to do well from a personal point of view and as a collective team.
"Am I surprised by Colchester's league position? Yes and no. They lost a few players last summer and they've found it hard to replace them.
"They lost Jamie Cureton, Chris Iwelumo and Richard Garcia. That's 50 goals gone out of the team and that is very hard to replace.
"They still have a lot of character in the changing room and an exceptional manager and I do believe they'll get out of trouble.
"But now, I'm a Hull City player and I'm fully committed to that. I want to go to Layer Road and help to cause Colchester problems.
"We've done very well over the last few weeks and we've picked up some good results away from home.
"Charlton and Stoke are the ones that spring to mind. We've gone to both of those grounds and taken the game to the opposition.
"We'll be looking to do that again at Colchester."
