Garcia Keen To Maintain Unbeaten Run
Richard Garcia is confident the Tigers can extend their unbeaten run in the league to six matches when Championship leaders West Brom visit the KC Stadium on Saturday (KO 5.20pm).
The Baggies enter the teatime clash having experienced a mixed bag of results in recent weeks and Garcia is keen for City to make home advantage count as they look to keep in touch with the play-off places.
"We're all looking forward to it and it should be an interesting game," said Garcia.
"West Brom are the league leaders but it's going to be enjoyable going up against them. We're five games unbeaten in the league and there's no reason why we can't continue that tomorrow.
"We want to go out there, put a performance in and hopefully take the three points, although we know it will be tough.
"They have a lot of experienced players who have played in the top league. They are a good footballing side and they score a lot of goals, which is very important."
Garcia was named as a substitute for last weekend's FA Cup game at Plymouth as manager Phil Brown gave Ryan France the chance to impress on the right.
Although the Australian was brought on at half time with France moving into the middle of midfield, he is in no doubt about the competition for places in the side.
"Ryan played really well and then the manager opted to change things a bit at the break. He played really well in the middle as well.
"We stepped things up in the second half and 'Deano' got a couple of goals to get us back in the game.
"When you get back within touching distance in a game, you tend to push on more and I thought we maybe could have got a draw or even stolen a win but it wasn't to be."
Garcia has four goals to his name so far this season and hopes there's more to come, but more importantly he wants to help the Tigers maintain their impressive home form which has seen them remain unbeaten at the KC for more than three months.
"Hopefully there will be some more goals to come. I'm trying to get myself into the box a bit more often and if I can score some goals, it helps to ease the load on the strikers a little bit.
"I think we're all really enjoying playing at the KC at the moment. If you're confident on your own ground you enjoy going into every game and the crowd get right behind you when things are going well.
"Hopefully things will continue to go well at home."
