Dean Marney is fit and ready to return to the Tigers' side for this afternoon's clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the KC Stadium (KO 3pm).

Marney missed out on the 1-1 draw at Charlton last weekend because of illness but has recovered for the visit of Wolves, although he admits David Livermore's performance at The Valley means he can't expect to walk straight back into the team.

"I've recovered as much as I can do," said Marney.

"I was bitterly disappointed to miss out the other day. I was up pretty much the full night before the game and it was just one of those things.

"It was the right decision for myself and for the team not to play.

"But I was delighted to see the team come away with a good result and they must have played well to do that.

"I didn't actually get to watch the game, but me being ill has given somebody else a chance and if 'Livers' has taken it, fair play to him. That means it's down to me to train well to try and get back into the side."

Marney has also backed the aim of manager Phil Brown to go undefeated over Christmas and having made a decent start, the midfielder hopes to see it continue with another positive result this afternoon.

"We just want to take every game as it comes, but we want to win every single game that we play.

"We've had a good win against Leicester and a good point at Charlton, so it would be nice to pick up another win today."
