Nicky Featherstone is hoping to experience a second Yorkshire derby inside a week when Sheffield United visit the KC Stadium on Saturday.

The youngster came off the bench for the final few minutes of the Tigers' 3-0 win against Barnsley and after his first taste of derby action, he's ready for more.

"After beating Barnsley 3-0, we're going into the game full of confidence," said Featherstone.

"But we know Sheffield United had a good win on Tuesday night and that could be a kick-start for their season, so we won't be taking anything lightly.

"It was great to get onto the pitch on Monday night, even though I only got about five minutes. It's hard to make an impact in that amount of time, but it was good to be involved.

"I've been involved in the last three first team games now and that is good."

Although he didn't have much time on the pitch on Monday, Featherstone did go close to his first senior goal with an effort that span along the goal line before being cleared.

He was also on hand to receive the ball from Stephen McPhee had he opted to play in Featherstone rather than setting up Dean Marney for the third goal.

"I was hoping it would go in but unfortunately the ball was spinning the other way.

"I was also up there when the third goal went in but I think Steve chose the right option in playing Dean in because he finished it well.

"The win was fantastic for us. We felt we deserved something against Watford and we were disappointed to come away with nothing.

"So to bounce back with a 3-0 win at home was great. Barnsley beat us twice last season, so it was good to get one back on them.

"The win put us into the top half of the table and it was nice to see that. That is what our aim is this season and we're showing good signs of progress."
