Phil Brown has labelled the Tigers' current form as 'not good enough' ahead of this evening's Yorkshire derby against Barnsley at the KC Stadium (KO 7.45pm).

Saturday's defeat at Watford means City have won just once in their last six games and although he agreed his side deserved something, he knows he can't keep saying that.

"One win in six is not good enough at all," said Brown.

"With the squad that we have, it's not acceptable and words have been said. We've got an opportunity to put things right tonight with a Yorkshire derby against Barnsley.

"There were enough positives to come out of Saturday to make sure we go into tonight with a bit of confidence. But the bottom line is it's not good enough.

"Maybe a draw would have been fair, but I can't keep on saying that. I keep finding myself saying we should have won the game when we've drawn and we should have drawn when we've lost.

"Saturday was always going to be tough, going to Vicarage Road with five or six injuries, but I'm not using that as an excuse because it gave other players the opportunity to give a good account of themselves.

"I thought we did that until we got to a certain part of the pitch and that was the final third.

"The final third is the most important part and unfortunately our composure in there was lacking."

Brown says it's now vital his side pick up points against Barnsley this evening and is hopeful some of the players who missed the weekend defeat will be available.

"It's vital that we take points from every game. We can't keep saying the same things and doing the same things.

"It's a big game tonight, as it was on Saturday. We came away from Watford with nothing and that's no good to me. Nobody can be knocking at my door saying that they deserve a chance tonight. I'll pick a team that I think will win the game."

Despite the defeat, Brown was satisfied with the performance of Fraizer Campbell on his debut and believes the on-loan Manchester United striker is a hot prospect.

"I think Fraizer is a great prospect. He only met his new team-mates on Friday and he's got a great future ahead of him.

"Hopefully he can do us a few favours between now and January."
