We Know We Can Bounce Back - Myhill
Boaz Myhill says the Tigers' reaction to their Boxing Day thrashing at Manchester City will be evident this evening.
Myhill and his Hull City side welcome Aston Villa to the KC Stadium in the Barclays Premier League intent on putting only their second away defeat of the season behind them.
It was the manner of the 5-1 defeat that upset Myhill the most and he says the players will be sticking together in a bid to put things right.
"You'll know tonight what our reaction is," said Myhill.
"As you can imagine, there are a lot of disappointed people around both individually and collectively and we're all anxious to put things right.
"As professionals, we're hell-bent on producing good performances and I think we've done that for the majority of the season. We didn't do that in the first half against Manchester City.
"I think on a personal level, it was a kick up the backside. The game, barring a miracle, was over at half time and we just tried to restore a little bit of pride in the second half.
"It's not something we've been used to. We lost heavily at home to Wigan in the early part of the season and we came back well after that.
"We're disappointed with the last couple of results, but we know we can come back because we've done it before. We know we can win at this level because we've done it on numerous occasions this season.
"It's up to us to put on a good show, not only tonight but for the rest of the season."
And Myhill would love to get back on track tonight. The goalkeeper started his career at Villa Park as an apprentice and says this is a fixture he has been looking forward to.
"Having been an apprentice at Villa, this is the game I have been looking forward to the most. They're all great games in the Premier League, but this is a special one for me.
"It will be a proud moment for me to play against them in the Premier League.
"They are doing tremendously well at the moment and are in a great run of form. They're playing well for each other and, as we were, they are gleaning the results. They're getting all the plaudits they deserve.
"They are a tremendously quick side with good wingers and Gabriel Agbonlahor is doing really well up front. But it's up to us to deal with it however we can.
"There are different ways to play against them and we'll come up with a game plan that hopefully works."
