Late onto the teamsheet and early onto the scoresheet, there was little wonder John Bostock was sporting the biggest smile in East Yorkshire on Saturday night.
Having completed his season-long loan move from Tottenham at the eleventh hour on Friday, the 18-year-old went straight into the Tigers' starting eleven for the season opener against Swansea at the KC Stadium and it took him just 23 minutes to register what could turn out to be the goal of the season.
Picking up possession from Nolberto Solano, Bostock produced a sweet turn to find space before rifling an unstoppable left-foot shot into the top corner from 30 yards.
It set his new side on the way to three points and Bostock was happy with just about every aspect of the day.
"I'm really, really happy," said Bostock.
"To win and get the three points was the main thing but to score and help the team get that win - I'm delighted and it's a good start.
"I had to do a little bit to get into a position to hit the ball. I only had one thing on my mind and it went in. I love shooting and I love scoring goals. I'd had a shot a few minutes earlier and I thought 'nobody has tested their goalkeeper yet' so I let one go and it went in."
Ian Ashbee later doubled City's lead to seal the three points and Bostock knows it's now key to build on the opening day success.
"The Club has got very high ambitions this year so we want to keep on winning and keeping clean sheets.
"It's a long season and one win doesn't get you anywhere. But it was a great start and it's good to get going."
The England U19 international is looking forward to his season with the Tigers and hopes to add more to the early taster he has given City fans.
"This is a great opportunity for me to show my ability and help the team. I love football with all my heart and all I want to do is get out on the pitch and enjoy my game.
"I'm so happy to be here."
