Proud Point

Posted on: Wed 30 Dec 2009

Jozy Altidore believes the Tigers can be proud of their comeback against Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok Stadium on Tuesday night.

City fought back from 2-0 down to claim a 2-2 draw thanks to a brace from Stephen Hunt and Altidore was pleased to see his side earn a point.

"It was a tough game, but everybody put in a lot of effort," said Altidore.

"I think we're proud to get a point in the end. We knew we had to pick things up at 2-0 down. We came into the game thinking we could win it, but we didn't start off too well.

"The substitutes that came on did well and had an impact on the match.

"Once it got to 2-2, we continued to put a lot of pressure on them and we were maybe a bit unlucky not to get a third goal.

"We've had an up and down time, but we've got some great footballers and we need to play like we did in the last 20 minutes a little bit more. If we can do that, we will be more successful than a lot of people think."
