Jimmy Bullard felt the Tigers thoroughly deserved the point they took from a 1-1 draw with Manchester City.
Having fallen behind just before half time, the Tigers fought back to claim a draw thanks to Bullard's penalty eight minutes from the end.
"It was a point I felt we thoroughly deserved because we dug in," said Bullard.
"They scored late in the first half, but we went back onto the pitch with belief and we came away with a point.
"Their goal was unfortunate from our point of view. Anthony Gardner was excellent all game alongside Kamil Zayatte, but the shot just took a little nibble off him to take it past Matt Duke.
"You always want your centre halves to dive at the ball like that because nine times out ten, it clears it rather than helps it into the back of the net.
"As far as the penalty is concerned, I enjoyed it. I put the ball down and decided I was going to put it in the same place as the one against West Ham. I wanted to put it as far into the side of the net as possible and I cracked it. It was blinding."
Bullard's goal celebration grabbed almost as many headlines as the result as he mimicked Phil Brown's half time team-talk on the Eastlands pitch from 11 months earlier.
The routine, which saw City's players sit around Bullard as he pointed his finger at them, was taken in the spirit in which it was meant and Bullard admitted it was pre-planned.
"We made the decision on Friday night over dinner. Paul McShane came up with the idea along with a couple of the other lads and we went through with it!"
