Neil Clement described Tuesday night's 3-1 victory at Colchester as 'a big win' and admitted things keep getting better and better for the Tigers.

Two goals from Fraizer Campbell and a late strike from Caleb Folan earned City three points to take them joint-fourth in the table.

That means the Tigers are now just five points away from the automatic promotion places, but for now Clement is happy to concentrate on their current league position.

"It was a big win because it was our game in hand," said Clement.

"Layer Road is always a difficult place to come, even though Colchester are bottom of the table, and the lads are over the moon with the three points.

"Things keep getting better and better, but we've got another difficult away game coming up at Leicester on Saturday and we'll get ready for that now. But like I said, the lads are over the moon."

The clash at Layer Road was certainly eventful with the home side being reduced to ten men after only 14 minutes, which helped to add to City's early dominance and Clement praised the contribution of Campbell who scored twice in 13 first half minutes to put the Tigers 2-0 up.

"We worked hard and the two up front were very good. Fraizer is on fire at the moment and it was a good first half for us.

"We were disappointed to concede a goal just after we went 2-0 up. With the set-pieces they had after that, you never know whether they will sneak another goal to equalise.

"But we kept concentrating and got the third goal late on to kill the game off."
