Michael Turner has reiterated the Tigers' desire to take each game as it comes after they climbed into the Championship's top six for the first time on Saturday.

Turner's second goal of the season helped City to a 2-0 win against Scunthorpe on Saturday but the centre back is adamant they won't be getting carried away after seeing themselves in the play-off zone.

"It's nice to be in the top six," said Turner.

"But we need to be there after 46 games, not 36. There's still a long way to go and we want to take each game as it comes.

"We'll keep working hard to try and make sure we stay in there. I'm sure confidence will have been raised after Saturday's win but, like I said there's a long way to go.

"I don't think it will do anything to us psychologically. I don't think there's much pressure on us to get there (the play-offs) because nobody outside of the club seems to believe we can do it."

Turner's 37th minute header against Scunthorpe added to Henrik Pedersen's opener and he was pleased with the way City performed.

"I expected the game to be a little bit tense but I thought we started really well. We set the right tone, created a lot of chances and thoroughly deserved to take the lead.

"We could have scored a couple before we went in front. But we scored whilst we were dominating which is the main thing and to then add a second before half time was pleasing.

"We've had that sort of a lead a few times this season and we're a good side at closing games out from that position.

"We've got a big game coming up at Cardiff on Wednesday and we just need to concentrate on that now.

"It was nice to score myself and I should be scoring a few more to be honest. That's two now and hopefully there'll be a couple more before the end of the season."
