Nick Barmby felt the Tigers' second half performance against Norwich on Tuesday meant they were worthy of at least a point.

Fraizer Campbell cancelled out Dion Dublin's first half opener to make the final score 1-1 and Barmby admitted there was a feeling City could have gone on to win the game.

"I think after the first 15 minutes, we would have taken a point," said Barmby.

"They came out of the traps quickly and you would expect that because Norwich are a good football side.

"Dion Dublin was fantastic for the first 30 minutes and he was almost unplayable.

"In the second half, Michael Turner really showed his quality against him. We all dug in, started to get into their faces and they started to give the ball away.

"We started to play some neat and tidy football and with the chances we had, you could say we were disappointed not to come away with a win."

Barmby felt the result highlighted the strength within the squad. City were without five first team regulars, giving an opportunity for several players to stake their claim for a regular place.

"That's exactly what football is - it's a squad game. It's not nice to see so many lads injured and ill, but the players who have come in have responded in the right manner.

"They've shown that they are 100 per cent committed to Hull City."
