Dean Windass admits the Tigers' need to take a long, hard look at themselves after Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Queens Park Rangers.

Goals from Hogan Ephraim and Mikele Leigertwood gave the home side a deserved win at Loftus Road and Windass knows City's performance wasn't acceptable.

"A few words were said at the end of the game but that will stay in the dressing room," said Windass.

"First and foremost we have to take a look at ourselves. If you're not honest with yourself, you won't go very far in the game.

"I know there are a lot of players in our squad that want to play in the Premier League. But at the present time, we need to look at ourselves and that includes me.

"The radio people were saying I had a good game. Well I didn't because I didn't score any goals.

"You can do all the hold up play in the world but if there's no end product, what's the point in doing it?

"That is the frustrating thing. We didn't create any chances and the strikers aren't scoring goals. My last goal was a penalty and I can't remember the last time I scored from open play. Obviously I'm disappointed with that."

Windass is now keen to help put things right when City travel to Burnley on Tuesday night and feels the game will present an opportunity to put the poor performance out of their system.

"The beauty of football is that we've got another game on Tuesday. We know that will be a battle because Burnley is a very hard place to go to.

"It will be physical and we have to stand up to be counted because if we don't, we'll get turned over again.

"When you've lost, the next game is always welcome. We've got a few hours to put things right, we'll regroup and try and get a result."
