Another Chance To Impress

Posted on: Fri 27 Jan 2012

Liam Cooper is hoping for another chance to impress in the FA Cup when the Tigers host Crawley Town on Saturday.

The 20-year-old centre back received high praise for his performance in the third round win against Ipswich Town three weeks ago and the Centre of Excellence product would love another opportunity to show what he can do.

"Hopefully I'll get the chance to play on Saturday and if I do, I have to try and grab it with both hands," said Cooper.

"I want to play well and then hope that the manager sees that. It's about keeping others on their toes more than anything. You try and push each other along, that is what we're trying to do as a team.

"The last round against Ipswich was a great game for me. I was lacking a bit of match fitness and maybe struggled in the last 15 minutes, but it was great to be back out playing at the KC."

Cooper says the players have their minds fully focussed on the game against Crawley as they look for a place in the fifth round.

"They are flying in League Two at the moment and they will be a tough opponent," added Cooper.

"It could be a tougher game for us mentally than the last round and they are obviously a good team.

"We're fully focussed on this game and we'll be leaving nothing in the changing rooms."
