Kilbane To Collect Cap 105

Posted on: Fri 03 Sep 2010

Kevin Kilbane will win his 105th cap for the Republic of Ireland this evening.

The left-sided player has been named in Giovanni Trapattoni's starting eleven for the Euro 2012 qualifier against Armenia in Yerevan and he is looking forward to playing competitive international football again.

"The last campaign gave us real belief that we can go on and qualify for these European Championships," said Kilbane.

"We're going there (Armenia) to win and if we play like we did in the last campaign, we've a real chance of getting a good start.

"Six points is something we can achieve from the Armenia and Andorra games over the next week."

Paul McShane, who was forced to pull out of the squad for today's game with a hamstring injury, will hope to recover in time for next Tuesday's game against Andorra in Dublin.
