Brown Calls For Home Form To Continue

Posted on: Fri 12 Mar 2010

Phil Brown is hoping his side can produce the kind of 'up and at 'em' performance that has already upset the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City at the KC Stadium this season when Arsenal are the visitors on Saturday evening.

The visit of the Gunners will signal the Tigers' first home game in five weeks and with the KC proving to be home sweet home more often than not this term, Brown will call on his players to produce another passionate display in front of a capacity crowd.

"It's five weeks since we've played at the KC Stadium," said Brown.

"But the fact is that five weeks ago, we beat Manchester City here, one of the most expensive teams in the world let alone the Premier League.

"We beat them fair and square. We got into their faces by taking the ball off them, but we also played some good football. The attitude, drive and determination were on show before any of the ability. Four days earlier, we had done the same to Chelsea.

"That is the type of performance we need. We've now got six of our final ten games at the KC Stadium and this is where our future, or destiny, lies."

And just like the games against Chelsea and Manchester City, Brown believes a full house of home fans can inspire his troops to a positive result and create an intimidating atmosphere for Arsene Wenger's side.

"We've called for that type of atmosphere in the media and in tomorrow's programme," added Brown.

"In the last three home games, we had three different atmospheres. At the Wolves game, there was a little bit of apprehension because we were expected to win the match.

"Then against Chelsea and Manchester City, we weren't expected to get anything but came out of the two games with four points.

"I don't think there'll be any apprehension on Saturday. I'm sure one or two will be coming to watch the great players that Arsenal will have on show, but hopefully they'll be coming to watch a great performance from Hull City as well."
