Phil Brown says his players are well prepared for Saturday's game against West Ham having had last weekend off to refresh their legs.
The Tigers haven't played since the 1-0 defeat at Blackburn nine days ago, giving them plenty of time to focus on this weekend's clash at Upton Park.
"There's three points (to play for) on Saturday and those will be a big three points," said Brown.
"West Ham are our nearest rivals because they have the same amount of points. They will be buoyed by their win against Birmingham, one of the form teams in the league, and they have a manager who believes that the way to get out of trouble is by playing good football.
"It will be a completely different kind of game to the Blackburn game. We'll both be trying to get the ball down and play, and then it's up to both sides to bring their best game to the table and take their chances.
"We're going into the game fresh and we've had a couple of weeks' preparation for it.
"There was a long weekend last weekend which the players had off. They came back in on Monday and played a reserve game against Bolton. A number of the senior players had a good run-out in that game.
"It's been an interesting couple of weeks and an opportunity to get the team fully fit and fully prepared for the West Ham game."
