We Added That Bit Extra - Horton
Brian Horton was delighted to see the Tigers' effort and desire result in three points against Manchester City at the weekend.
Goals from Jozy Altidore and George Boateng put the Tigers in control at the KC Stadium and although Emmanuel Adebayor pulled one back for the big-spending visitors, it was the home fans celebrating a fine win at full time.
"We asked for all the running, the tackling and the work-rate, but we also asked for a bit more than that," said Horton.
"They gave us that bit more on Saturday. It was a fantastic win against a side that has spent an awful lot of money. It just shows what attitude, application and desire can do.
"We scored two wonderful goals. Jozy scored his first in the league with a really well taken effort and then George Boateng provided a blast from the past.
"He caught his shot so sweetly. George has been tremendous in the last week. He felt it a little bit towards the end, but it was a tremendous all-round team display.
"We were disappointed to concede the goal because it came from a corner. But we defended ever so well and those three points are massive. It takes us out of the bottom three and gives us a platform to build on."
