The Club is proud to have once again supported the Real Aid Christmas Shoebox Appeal, and our gift boxes were delivered earlier this week to the Real Aid Headquarters in Tickton near Beverley by Manager Phil Brown.
Tigers' players and backroom staff donated money to buy items for 30 boxes, which were packed with toys, notebooks and crayons plus essential items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes and soap.
Real Aid Director Colin Raine said. "For many of these children, in the poorest country in the World, these boxes represent hope and are often their only possession. The support of Phil and the Tigers endorses our appeal and its message. Without doubt Phil's high profile encourages others to give."
Real Aid will be sending thousands of filled boxes to children in impoverished parts of West Africa, including orphanages and rural areas near Hull's twin town, Freetown, in Sierra Leone. For further information about the Appeal and the work of Real Aid visit www.realaid.org.uk
