Tonight's Internationals

Posted on: Wed 14 Oct 2009

Although Kevin Kilbane winning his 100th international cap has quite rightly grabbed the headlines this week, he won't be the only Tiger on duty for his country tonight.

Paul McShane and Stephen Hunt could feature alongside Kilbane for the Republic of Ireland against Montenegro in Dublin. The fact that McShane currently has a yellow card to his name may count against him being involved this evening with a two-legged World Cup qualifying play-off match coming up next month, but Hunt could be handed a chance to shine after impressing as a substitute against Italy at the weekend.

Goalkeeper Boaz Myhill will get the chance to nail down a regular starting place for Wales when he replaces the suspended Wayne Hennessey against Liechtenstein in Vaduz. It will be Myhill's first competitive game for his country having previously made five friendly appearances.

Further afield, Peter Halmosi will hope to be involved when Hungary take on Denmark in Copenhagen. The left winger didn't feature in Hungary's defeat against Portugal on Saturday.

Meanwhile Jozy Altidore is in line to replace stricken international team-mate Charlie Davies when the USA face Costa Rica. Davies, whom Altidore replaced as a second half substitute in the 3-2 win against Honduras at the weekend, is in hospital following a serious car crash and is likely to be out of action for up to 12 months.
