"It was a fantastic night for the football club, but the job isn't done yet."

Those were the words of Phil Brown after watching his side book a place in the Championship Play-Off Final with a 6-1 aggregate victory over Watford.

The win means City will play at Wembley for the first time in their history, but Brown is well aware that a win is necessary if anybody is to remember the achievements of his side this season.

"It feels like I'm putting a dampener on things by saying that, but nobody remembers a losing finalist," said Brown.

"We've got to go to Wembley with a game plan knowing that we're only 90 minutes away from the Premier League.

"But it is great to get to Wembley and it's one of the milestones we needed to achieve."

It looked like being a nervous night for the Tigers when Darius Henderson reduced the aggregate score to 2-1 in only the 12th minute.

But Brown admitted Nick Barmby's goal just before the break changed the theme of his half time team-talk before second half goals from Caleb Folan, Richard Garcia and a first goal in senior football from Nathan Doyle sent the KC Stadium wild with delight as City secured a 4-1 win on the night.

"I was very concerned with the score on the night being 1-0 to Watford. I take my hat off to Aidy Boothroyd because he came here with a game plan and a never say die attitude.

"They got the goal and that was down to us not winning our individual battles. That was something that concerned me.

"It took about 35 minutes for us to go into a challenge and unfortunately, Nick Barmby picked up a booking for it.

"But the last ten minutes of the first half were significant in terms of the game. Nick got the goal to settle us down and I thought our second half performance was very powerful.

"I was really proud of the players. But the Nick Barmby goal allowed me to be more constructive at half time."

Brown also reserved praise for the supporters who created a magnificent atmosphere, especially during the second half.

"I'd love to sample the atmosphere we had in the stadium last night a few more times during my time at Hull City.

"The Mexican Wave that went around the stadium towards the end was fabulous to see.

"As a player, I played at Wembley in the Play-Offs and was involved in promotions, but nothing tops this."
