Goals from Stuart Elliott and Stuart Green weren't enough to earn the Tigers a point on their first-ever visit to the Walkers Stadium this afternoon as they went down 3-2 against Leicester City in a thrilling game.

Peter Taylor, making his first return to Leicester since his spell in charge of the Foxes, fielded the same starting eleven that lost at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend with the only change to the squad coming on the bench with former Fox Kevin Ellison replacing Craig Fagan. The starting line-up also featured ex-Leicester players Damien Delaney and Alan Rogers.
The game got away to a quiet start, although Taylor and Rogers were given a less than warm reception from the home supporters.
With nine minutes gone, Leicester had the first goal attempt of the game when Iain Hume hit a powerful shot from 20 yards which Bo Myhill had to beat away. The rebound fell to Alan Maybury on the edge of the box, but he dragged his shot wide.
Joey Gudjonsson was next to try his luck, this time from 30 yards, but his shot flew high and wide of goal.
The Tigers created their first chance on 16 minutes. Ryan France played a cross-field pass to Stuart Elliott and when he knocked the ball across goal, Stuart Green saw his effort go narrowly wide.
Rogers bombed forward in the 25th minute and with the boos ringing in his ears, he tried a shot from distance which hit Green and went wide.
Leicester took the lead on the half hour. Gudjonsson was allowed to run at the City defence before slipping the ball through to Hume, who looked suspiciously offside, and the former Tranmere man beat Myhill with a shot into the bottom corner.
The Tigers equalised five minutes later. A fine passing move involving Mark Noble and Green saw Jon Parkin released on the right side of the box. His delivery to the back post found Stuart Elliott [pictured] who was left unmarked to head home.

Elliott again found himself heading for goal on 38 minutes when he met a Green free kick, but this time he was off target.
Damien Delaney almost helped his former club out a minute later when he headed a cross from the left over his own goal via the crossbar. The resulting corner came to nothing.
Half Time: Leicester 1-1 Tigers.
Seven minutes into the second half, Elliott was harshly booked after an aerial challenge with Richard Stearman as City looked to get on top.
At the other end, Matty Fryatt saw his low effort saved by Myhill while Stephen Hughes saw his volley go wide.
Some desperate defending from Alton Thelwell brought a mazy run by Fryatt to an end just as the striker was about to pull the trigger.
City made their first change on 60 minutes when John Welsh came on to replace Noble.
Myhill had to be alert in the 62nd minute to stop a low drive from Maybury after the Leicester captain had capitalised on a slip from Rogers.
A minute later, the home side went back in front when Gudjonsson tried his luck from the halfway line and beat Myhill with a superb chip.
Taylor tried to change things and introduced Darryl Duffy in place of Thelwell.
City were almost back on level terms on 67 minutes when Parkin met a France cross only to be denied by a stupendous save by Paul Henderson in the Leicester goal.
Leicester made their first change in the 71st minute when Andy Welsh came on for Hughes.
As City pushed for the equaliser, France was unlucky to see his dipping shot go narrowly wide after a Rogers cross had only been half cleared.
The Tigers levelled on 73 minutes. A long clearance from Myhill was brilliantly brought down by Parkin who fed Stuart Green [pictured] and his first-time shot from 25 yards went across Henderson and into the bottom corner of the net.

Elliott had a great chance to put the Tigers in front after being played in by Duffy, but with his right foot he dragged his shot wide from ten yards.
Seven minutes from time, Leicester took the lead again. Gudjonsson picked up the ball and fired home past Myhill from 25 yards to bag his second of the afternoon.
City made their final change on 87 minutes, bringing on Billy Paynter for Keith Andrews with Damien Delaney handed the captain's armband.
As the Tigers pushed forward, Hume hit them on the break and almost found the net but he curled his shot just wide.
Four minutes of time were added and right at the death, Leicester almost added a fourth when Myhill was caught up-field, but after dribbling into the penalty area, Andy Welsh fired over.
