Jack Hobbs made his playing return in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Peterborough United on Tuesday afternoon.

The centre back, who has been out of action since March with knee ligament damage, played the final 29 minutes of the game against The Posh as he took the next step on the road to a first team return.

Provided he suffers no adverse reaction to today’s action, Hobbs is likely to step up his comeback with a run-out for the Reserves against Gateshead at North Ferriby next Wednesday.

Eldin Jakupovic, Andy Dawson and Seyi Olofinjana were also given some game-time in this afternoon’s match, which was watched by manager Steve Bruce.
